Your new role
Short-term interim assignment, HR Advisor / ER Advisor - up to £170 per day. Onsite Cheltenham office.
This interim assignment will suit an experienced Interim HR Officer / HR Advisor who can hit the ground running in the provision of hands-on, operational HR support within an education organisation in Cheltenham on a temporary basis (initially until July 2026). This is a visible, on-site role. You will be the trusted advisor, delivering practical, day-to-day employee relations support to leaders and employees. You will support managers and staff daily, ensuring people's issues are managed effectively and proactively. Key responsibilities will include:
  • Manage employee relations casework, including absence, return to work interviews and probation reviews

  • Support short and long-term absence management, including welfare contact and fit note monitoring

  • Provide practical guidance to line managers on day-to-day people issues

  • Support low-level case management and informal capability concerns

  • Ensure policies are applied consistently and documentation is maintained

  • Act as a visible HR presence, building trust and identifying emerging issues proactively

  • Provide clear insight to leadership on staff wellbeing, morale and risk

What you'll need to succeed
  • You will be experienced in operational HR.

  • This interim assignment will suit a confident professional well versed in managing employee relations casework.

  • Pragmatic, approachable and solutions-focused.

  • Comfortable working on-site and building relationships at all levels.
