Housing Support Worker

Catch Scotland provides tailored housing support, vocational training, care and learning experiences for care\-experienced young people aged 16–25\. Our aim is to support young adults to develop the skills, confidence and resilience needed to live independently and achieve positive outcomes.

We are looking for compassionate, reliable and committed individuals to join our team as Housing Support Workers.

Important – Working Pattern

Please ensure you can commit to the rota below before applying.

This role offers a condensed working pattern, making full\-time hours achievable through sleepover shifts.

Weekday Shift

You will work:

One backshift sleepover shift each week, Monday to Thursday

Shift time: 3:00pm – 9:00am the following day (includes sleepover)

Rolling Weekend Rota

You will also work a four\-week rolling weekend pattern:

Week 1: Friday sleepover shift (3:00pm – 9:00am)

Week 2: Saturday shift (9:00am – 9:00am)

Week 3: Sunday shift (9:00am – 9:00am)

Week 4: Weekend off

The rota then repeats every four weeks.

The Role

As a Housing Support Worker, you will provide 1:1 support to care\-experienced young people living in their own tenancies. You will help them build routines, develop independent living skills and achieve their personal goals while providing consistent, relationship\-based support.

This is primarily a lone\-working role, supported by an experienced management team who are available 24/7\.

Key Responsibilities

Support young people to achieve positive outcomes through structured support plans

Promote healthy routines, boundaries and positive life choices

Develop independent living skills including budgeting, cooking and tenancy management

Support access to education, employment, training and community activities

Ensure the safety and wellbeing of young people at all times

Follow safeguarding, child protection and adult protection procedures

Work in line with National Care Standards, SSSC Codes of Practice and The Promise

Maintain accurate records and reports

Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and partner agencies

Develop professional and positive working relationships with young people and stakeholders

About You

Essential Requirements

Minimum 2 years' experience in Health and Social Care

Right to work in the United Kingdom

Ability to work the rota pattern outlined above

Desirable

Full UK driving licence

Access to a vehicle

Additional Information

Successful candidates will be subject to:

Satisfactory references

PVG Scheme membership

Registration with the SSSC within three months of appointment

Location

Based across Renfrewshire, West Dunbartonshire and Inverclyde, supporting young people in their own homes. Easily accessible from Glasgow, Paisley and surrounding areas.
