Housekeeper – Plaza Premium Lounge, London Gatwick Airport

Pay: £12\.71 per hour
Location: London Gatwick Airport
Working Pattern: Rota\-based across 7 days, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

About the Role

As a Housekeeper at Plaza Premium Lounge, you will play a key role in ensuring our lounges remain clean, comfortable, safe and welcoming for every guest. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness across all guest and operational areas of the lounge, including seating areas, washrooms, food and beverage areas and back\-of\-house spaces. This is a fast\-paced role where attention to detail, teamwork and a proactive approach are essential.

Duties \& Responsibilities

• Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the lounge at all times.


• Clean and sanitise guest seating areas, tables, counters and other high\-touch surfaces.


• Sweep, vacuum, mop and spot\-clean floors throughout the lounge.


• Remove debris and spillages promptly to maintain a safe and presentable environment.


• Clean and maintain washrooms to a high standard, including regular checks throughout the shift.


• Replenish washroom supplies such as soap, tissue, hand towels and other guest amenities.


• Clean and disinfect doors, handles, panels, counters, furniture and other public\-facing surfaces.


• Support the cleaning and presentation of food and beverage service areas where required.


• Clean and sanitise service equipment, utensils and designated operational areas in accordance with company procedures.


• Collect, separate and dispose of waste correctly, following recycling and waste\-management procedures.


• Ensure cleaning products and equipment are stored safely and securely.


• Follow all company cleaning schedules, procedures and checklists.


• Carry out regular cleaning checks and respond quickly to any areas requiring attention.


• Report maintenance issues, spillages, damaged equipment or health and safety concerns to the Duty Manager promptly.


• Ensure cleaning equipment is used correctly and maintained in good working order.


• Comply with all Health \& Safety requirements, including COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) procedures.


• Follow food hygiene and safety procedures when working in or around food service areas.


• Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to ensure cleaning priorities are managed efficiently.


• Assist with opening and closing cleaning duties as required.


• Maintain back\-of\-house areas, storage spaces and staff areas to an acceptable standard.


• Ensure adequate stock levels of cleaning products, guest amenities and housekeeping supplies are maintained.


• Notify management when supplies require replenishment.


• Respond professionally and courteously to guests when working in public areas.


• Support the overall guest experience by ensuring the lounge remains clean, tidy and welcoming throughout the day.


• Complete any other reasonable duties requested by the manager in charge that fall within the scope of the position.


• Be flexible to work across different Plaza Premium Lounge locations or terminals at London Gatwick Airport, depending on operational requirements.

• Previous housekeeping, cleaning, hotel, hospitality or airport experience would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.

This role operates on a rota across seven days and may include early and late shifts. Applicants must be able to reliably travel to London Gatwick Airport for early morning starts, including at times when public transport may be limited.
