Job Summary
The House Manager is responsible for ensuring Valerie Manor is a safe, welcoming, well\-maintained, and efficiently operated home.
The role combines responsibility for housekeeping, laundry, maintenance coordination, activities oversight, stock management, admissions administration, HR administration, recruitment coordination, compliance records, and general office management.
Working closely with the Registered Manager, the post\-holder will ensure residents enjoy an exceptional living environment while supporting the efficient operation of the home.
Duties
- Oversee daily household operations, including scheduling and supervising staff to ensure high\-quality resident care.
- Manage administrative functions such as recruitment, data entry, record keeping, and maintaining resident and staff files using the internal systems.
- Coordinate maintenance and housekeeping services to uphold cleanliness and safety standards within the home.
- Handle phone inquiries with professionalism and courtesy, providing information or directing calls appropriately.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by conducting regular inspections, documentation and audits.
- Support resident engagement activities by organizing events or liaising with activity coordinators.
Essential
- Previous experience in a care home, healthcare, hospitality, or service environment.
- Experience in administration and office management.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience supervising staff.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Understanding of confidentiality and GDPR requirements.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience within a residential care home environment.
- Knowledge of CQC standards and care home operations.
- Experience with HR administration and recruitment.
- Experience coordinating maintenance, housekeeping, or hospitality services.
- Understanding of health \& safety and infection prevention principles.
- Level 3 qualification in Business Administration, Health \& Social Care, Leadership, or equivalent.
Pay: £29,000\.00\-£30,000\.00 per year
