Hotel Laundry Supervisor
Purpose:
The Laundry Supervisor supports the Laundry Manager in the day\-to\-day running of the laundry operation, ensuring all linens, towels, uniforms, and textiles are processed efficiently and to five\-star luxury standards. The role is hands\-on and supervisory, overseeing daily production, quality control, and team performance to ensure seamless service delivery to Rooms, Spa, F\&B, and Estate departments.
The postholder plays a key role in maintaining operational flow, upholding hygiene and safety standards, and leading the laundry team on shift. They act as the first point of contact for operational issues and deputise for the Laundry Manager in their absence where required.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support \& Quality Standards
- Supervise daily laundry operations, ensuring all linen, towelling, and uniforms are cleaned, finished, and delivered in line with five\-star standards.
- Oversee washing, drying, pressing, folding, and sorting processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
- Carry out quality checks on finished linen and uniforms, reporting defects, damage, or stock issues to the Laundry Manager.
- Ensure correct labelling, rotation, storage, and handling of all laundry stock.
- Liaise daily with Housekeeping, Spa, and F\&B teams to ensure linen demands are met and any operational issues are addressed promptly.
- Support the implementation and adherence to Laundry SOPs and brand standards.
- Supervise Laundry Valets/Staff during shifts, ensuring task allocation is clear and productivity targets are met.
- Lead by example, maintaining high standards of professionalism, appearance, and work ethic.
- Deliver on\-shift briefings and communicate priorities, changes, or guest/service demands.
- Support the induction and on\-the\-job training of new laundry team members.
- Monitor team performance and attendance, escalating concerns to the Laundry Manager as appropriate.
- Contribute to a positive, safe, and supportive working environment.
- Assist with monitoring daily linen, uniform, and consumable usage to minimise loss and wastage.
- Carry out routine stock checks and support inventory counts as directed by the Laundry Manager.
- Report low stock levels, damaged items, and discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Ensure discarded or condemned items are recorded correctly in line with procedures.
- Ensure laundry equipment is operated safely and in accordance with training and SOPs.
- Carry out daily equipment and area checks, reporting faults or maintenance issues to the Laundry Manager and Engineering.
- Ensure correct handling, storage, and use of laundry chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation within the laundry areas at all times.
- Support high\-occupancy periods, events, weddings, and VIP operations by ensuring linen availability and turnaround times are met.
- Assist with special laundry requirements, including guest laundry or delicate fabric care, when required.
- Provide cover for the Laundry Manager during periods of absence, ensuring continuity of operations.
- Adhere at all times to hotel policies and procedures relating to health \& safety, fire safety, emergency evacuation, security, and first aid.
- Ensure compliance with the Employee Handbook and all departmental guidelines and notices.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties within the scope of the role as required by the Laundry Manager or senior management.

Contract length: 24 months
48 Hours – As per rota May include weekend and bank holidays
Pay: Up to £40,000\.00 per year
