About the Role
FB Holdings is looking for an experienced and highly driven Business Development Manager to develop new business across our hospitality portfolio, with an initial key focus on Qavali, Brindleyplace and Baloci Hotel and Restaurant, Edgbaston.
This is a hands\-on commercial role for someone who understands the Birmingham hospitality, corporate and events market and, importantly, already has a strong network of contacts.
The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively generating new revenue through corporate dining, private events, celebrations, conferences, networking events, accommodation opportunities and other group bookings.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have established relationships with corporate businesses, event agencies, event organisers, PAs/EAs, concierge services, hotels and other organisations capable of generating regular and high\-value bookings.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively generate new business and revenue for Qavali, Baloci Hotel and Restaurant and the wider FB Holdings portfolio.
- Build a strong pipeline of corporate accounts, event agencies and potential business partners.
- Use existing industry contacts and relationships to introduce new clients to the business.
- Target Birmingham and West Midlands businesses for corporate dining, meetings, celebrations, events and accommodation.
- Develop relationships with event management companies, corporate event planners, PAs, EAs and office managers.
- Identify opportunities for large group bookings, private dining, venue hire, corporate functions, hotel stays and Christmas/festive events.
- Conduct regular outbound sales activity including calls, emails, LinkedIn networking and face\-to\-face meetings.
- Arrange venue visits, show\-rounds and meetings with prospective clients.
- Attend relevant networking events and actively represent FB Holdings within the Birmingham business community.
- Maintain regular contact with existing corporate clients to encourage repeat business.
- Work closely with the Operations, Restaurant Management, Reservations and Marketing teams to convert enquiries into confirmed bookings.
- Develop corporate packages and commercial opportunities based on market demand.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide regular updates on leads, conversions and revenue generated.
- Take ownership of agreed monthly and quarterly new\-business targets.
We are looking for someone who is commercially driven, confident and well connected.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Several years' experience in hospitality sales, business development, events or a similar commercial role.
- A strong existing network within the Birmingham/West Midlands corporate and events market.
- Proven experience generating corporate bookings, events or new hospitality business.
- Existing relationships with businesses, event agencies, event organisers or corporate decision\-makers.
- Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- The confidence to approach senior decision\-makers and develop long\-term commercial relationships.
- A proactive approach – this is a role for someone who enjoys getting out into the market and creating opportunities rather than waiting for enquiries.
- A strong understanding of premium restaurants, hotels, hospitality and events.
- The ability to work independently and be accountable for measurable sales results.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple leads and opportunities simultaneously.
Base Salary: £35,000 per annum
In addition to the base salary, an attractive 5% commission structure will apply to qualifying new business of £5,000\+ generated by the Business Development Manager, subject to the company's commission terms.
This provides significant earning potential for a commercially successful candidate who can consistently introduce high\-value corporate and event business.
