Hospital Housekeeper (Bank)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Hospital Housekeeper (Bank) to join our healthcare facility’s cleaning team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, visitors, and contractors. Your efforts will directly contribute to infection control, patient safety, and overall hospital hygiene standards. This position offers flexible bank shifts, allowing you to support the hospital’s cleaning needs as required.

Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, corridors, operating theaters, restrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment


• Ensure all surfaces are sanitized according to hospital protocols to prevent the spread of infections


• Dispose of waste safely and in compliance with health and safety regulations


• Restock supplies such as hand sanitizers, paper towels, and cleaning materials in designated areas


• Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities and report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly


• Follow strict health and safety guidelines during all cleaning procedures to protect yourself and others


• Support special cleaning projects or deep\-cleaning tasks as assigned by supervisory staff

Experience

• Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is highly desirable


• Previous hospital or healthcare environment experience is preferred but not mandatory


• Familiarity with infection control procedures and sanitation standards is a plus


• Ability to operate cleaning machinery and equipment safely and effectively


• Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards

Pay: From £12\.71 per hour

Expected hours: 5\.0 – 25\.0 per week
