We are looking for:
We are looking for a talented and creative Product Designer to design and develop distinctive, commercial products and collections across our portfolio of brands.
This is a hands\-on creative role, with product design at its heart. You’ll support the design process by contributing fresh ideas and concepts, researching trends, developing product designs, and producing artwork and specifications ready for sampling and production. You’ll be working within a small collaborative team and will play an active part in bringing products from initial idea through to finished design.
Alongside the creative side of the role, you’ll be highly organised and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines, taking ownership of your workload and communicating proactively with the wider team to ensureeverything is delivered accurately and on time. You’ll also be confident communicating directly with suppliers to discuss designs, review samples and ensure the finished product reflects the original concept.
We are looking for someone who is full of ideas, passionate about design and excited by the process of turning a concept on paper into a real product.
Skills \& Experience:
- A degree or relevant qualification in Product Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Textile Design or a related creative discipline.
- A strong creative eye, with excellent drawing and sketching skills and the ability to develop ideas from initial concepts through to finished designs.
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates creativity, originality and a good understanding of colour, form, proportion, materials and detail.
- Confident using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with experience creating product designs, packaging artwork and production\-ready files.
- Highly competent in packaging design, with excellent attention to detail, ensuring artwork is creative, accurate, compliant and production\-ready.
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects, keeping designs and developments moving smoothly through different stages.
- Confident communicating with suppliers, clearly explaining designs, specifications and any amendments throughout the development process.
- A genuine interest in homeware, interiors and lifestyle products, with an awareness of contemporary design and consumer trends.
- Experience using CAD, 3D modelling/rendering or technical drawing software would be an advantage but not necessary.
- Some product development or manufacturing experience would be beneficial, giving you an understanding of how designs move from concept through to production, but this is not essential.
