Homeless Support Worker (Female) – Women’s and Men’s Support
About the role
We are looking for a compassionate and reliable female Homeless Support Worker to join our day centre team. You will support both guests of all genders experiencing homelessness, including people affected by substance misuse, dependency, mental ill\-health and other vulnerabilities. Where required, you will be the primary support for homeless women providing dedicated one\-to\-one support to homeless women, for example, to those whom may have experienced domestic abuse, sexual violence or exploitation. The team currently has a male support worker, and the successful support worker will work together with the current support worker within the existing service. You will help all guests access practical support and take steps towards greater stability, while treating everyone with dignity and respect.
Key responsibilities
· Welcome guests, carry out one\-to\-one assessments and key\-work with female and male guests in private settings, and identify immediate needs or risks.
· Agree and review support plans, keeping accurate and confidential records of progress.
· Provide practical and emotional support, including help with benefits, grants, housing and other entitlements, and provide intimate or personal support where required.
· Make appropriate referrals and work with health, housing, substance misuse and other support agencies.
· Support women and men who have experienced trauma, abuse or exploitation using a trauma\-informed approach.
· Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, incidents and emergencies, following centre procedures.
· Promote a safe, respectful environment and maintain clear professional boundaries.
· As required, provide women\-only support and/or sessions , helping to ensure they are safe, welcoming and appropriately supported.

· The ability to communicate clearly, manage competing priorities and work calmly in challenging situations.
· Basic confidence using Microsoft Office and electronic records.
· A commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding and treating people fairly.
· Experience of supporting vulnerable people experiencing homelessness is essential; experience of supporting women affected by trauma or abuse is desirable.

Occupational requirement
· Due to the nature of this role, the post holder must be a woman. This is an occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1, paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010\.
Support and development
You will receive regular supervision, ongoing training and support from the day centre manager. This role is subject to satisfactory safeguarding checks and references.
Pay: £21,060\.00 per year
