DOMESTIC HIU ENGINEER

Salary: £21\.14 per hour
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

We are currently recruiting for a Domestic HIU Engineer to join an established Building Services business.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience working on Heat Interface Units (HIUs), heating systems and meters within domestic properties.
You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault finding and repairing HIU and associated heating/metering equipment, providing a professional service to customers and residents.
The role offers a strong overall package, including a company van, private use option, paid travel time, overtime and a generous holiday allowance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Service, maintain and repair domestic Heat Interface Units (HIUs).
- Carry out fault finding and diagnostics on HIU systems.
- Work on domestic heating and hot water systems.
- Carry out meter\-related works and checks.
- Carrying out checks on radiators when required
- Identify and rectify faults with heating and hot water systems.
- Replace faulty components where required.
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance.
- Complete service sheets and job reports accurately.
- Liaise professionally with residents and customers.
- Monday – Friday
- 8:30am – 5:00pm
- Travel time is paid at £13 per hour.
- Travel is paid in addition to time spent working on site, subject to company arrangements.
Overtime after 5:00pm is paid at 1\.66x the normal hourly rate – approximately £35 per hour.
1 in 15 days on\-call rota, additional on\-call payments include:
- Monday\-Friday : £30
- Saturday: £60
- Sunday: £60
- Travel during on\-call is paid at 1\.66x the normal travel rate.

The first week will be based in at our head office, with accommodation provided where required. You will then receive a further 7 weeks training with our engineers in your local area
- £25 per night accommodation allowance

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within domestic heating, HIU or metering environments.
Experience with HIUs, communal heating systems, domestic hot water and associated controls/components would be highly advantageous.
Candidates with a strong background in plumbing, heating, mechanical engineering or HIU maintenance are encouraged to apply.
