HGV Class 2 Bin Lifter

JG Pears is a long established, highly successful and continually expanding animal rendering business. We are now looking to recruit an HGV Class 2 Bin Lifter Driver to join our transport team based between our Twycross (CV9 3PL) and Market Harborough sites (LE16 7SL).

This is a hands\-on driving role involving the collection of animal by products from customers across the local area and surrounding regions using a bin lifting vehicle.

You will be provided with full training on our vehicles, equipment, collection procedures and systems, so previous bin lifter experience is not essential. We are looking for professional, reliable drivers who take pride in their work and are comfortable working independently.

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, with every other Saturday as required. Days based role, with start and finish times varying depending on the daily collection schedule.

Responsibilities

• Driving a Class 2 bin lifter vehicle to collect animal by products from customers


• Operating the vehicle's bin lifting equipment safely and correctly


• Completing collections and associated paperwork accurately


• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects or issues


• Ensuring all collections are completed safely and efficiently


• Adhering to drivers' hours and working time regulations


• Following company procedures and all relevant health and safety requirements


• Maintaining a professional and courteous approach when dealing with customers


• Keeping the vehicle and equipment clean and in good working order

Requirements

• Hold a valid HGV Class 2 licence and current DCPC qualification


• Previous Class 2 driving experience is required


• Previous bin lifter or animal by products experience would be advantageous, but full training will be provided


• Good understanding of drivers' hours and road transport regulations


• Reliable, safety conscious and able to work independently


• Good communication and customer service skills


• Comfortable with a physically active role and working outdoors in all weather conditions
