Job Spec:

We are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Driver to join our team at the West Bromwich depot. We are in search of people who can represent TST on the road, champion safety and demonstrate how efficient delivery within distribution is completed.

This opportunity is a full\-time position Monday – Friday each week on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will be flexible and have a positive attitude towards work. As a Class 1 Driver, you will play a vital role ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of goods in accordance with agreed requirements and operational needs of the department.

· Ensure goods are loaded onto vehicle in accordance with route sheets, ensuring that any discrepancies are recorded on the shortage sheet and reported to the Shift Supervisor prior to leaving the Depot. Monitoring customer requests, allocating jobs and issuing instructions.

· Deliver goods in line with agreed requirements, e.g., delivery time and location.

· Maintain high levels of customer service and professionalism when communicating with customers and the management team.

· Undertake regular vehicle maintenance checks (including cleaning of vehicle, oil and water checks), recording and reporting any relevant information as necessary.

· Communicate regularly with the distribution team in respect of all delivery and transport issues as they occur.

· Always drive responsibly and ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures and relevant road transport regulations.

· Understand and adhere to company requirements and always expected standards of behaviour.

· Use initiative to assist with onsite problem solving.

Other Duties:

· Alert line manager to any problems that may impact on your ability to carry out their duties.

· Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested.

· Participate in training events and take responsibility for self\-learning

· Adhere to the spirit as well as the letter of the Company’s policies, particularly with regard to maintaining confidentiality and client and product security at all times.

Person Specification:

· Commercial driving experience – Multi\-drop preferred but not essential

· Exposure to customer interaction

· Flexible attitude to work.

· Able to follow instructions clearly.

· Able to make operational level decisions.
