We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated full time, permanent Heating Engineer to join our reputable company. Applicants must live in or near Stockport, as most of your work will be based in and around the local area. As a Heating Engineer, you will play a vital role in carrying out high quality boiler, heating and plumbing installations while providing exceptional customer service. Experience in boiler fault finding and repairs would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

  • Install gas boilers, heating systems, hot water systems and associated plumbing works in residential properties.

  • Carry out heating system upgrades, alterations and replacements to a high standard.

  • Commission and test newly installed boilers and heating systems, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently.

  • Perform gas safety checks, inspections and testing to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.

  • Diagnose and repair faults on gas boilers and heating systems where required.

  • Provide excellent customer service by working in a clean and tidy manner, addressing customer queries and explaining installation procedures and system operation.

  • Accurately record work carried out, materials used and time spent on each job, maintaining job records.

  • Collaborate with team members, including supervisors and other engineers, to ensure efficient and effective completion of projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Gas Safe registered engineer with relevant qualifications.

  • Proven experience in installing gas boilers, heating systems and associated plumbing works.

  • Strong knowledge of domestic heating and hot water systems.

  • Excellent knowledge of gas safety regulations and industry standards.

  • A willingness to carry out fault finding, repairing and servicing gas boilers and heating systems.

  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non\-technical individuals.

  • Flexibility to travel to various locations within and around the Stockport area.

  • A valid driving licence.

  • Punctuality, reliability and a strong work ethic.
Desirable, but Not Essential, Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in fault finding, repairing and servicing gas boilers and heating systems.

  • Commercial Gas Safe registration.

  • OFTEC registration.

  • Experience of carrying out bathroom plumbing alterations and general domestic plumbing work.

  • A willingness to carry out paid overtime during busy periods.
