We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Primary Care team at HMP Hewell a category C men's prison inthe village of Tardebigge in Worcestershire.

Hours
This position is full time working 37\.5 hours per week.
7am \- 8pm (3 long days per week) \& 1\.5 weekends in a month
Salary
You'll recieve an annual salary of £25,557 \- £29,723 per annum \- dependent on expereince

What you'll be doing
As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
- Deliver exceptional care to patients, both in the healthcare department and on the wings
- Facilitate clinics, including bloods, observations (obs), ECGs, NHS Health checks etc
- Be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages
- Support the nursing team with all aspects of care
- Act as a second checker in pharmacy as required
- Support receptions (new patients entering the prison) and assist with triaging new patients
- You will primarily be working within the Primary Care team, although will be required to carry out duties in the Substance Misuse team

Our new Healthcare Assistant will:
- Ideally hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health \& Social Care, or Care Certificate
- Have experience within phlebotomy \- this is highly desirable!
- Have experience in a clinical care setting previously \- ideally from a hospital or prison setting
- Have clinical experience \- venepuncture, ECGs etc
- Have a non\-judgemental and compassionate approach
