We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Primary Care team at HMP Hewell a category C men's prison inthe village of Tardebigge in Worcestershire.

Hours

This position is full time working 37\.5 hours per week.

7am \- 8pm (3 long days per week) \& 1\.5 weekends in a month

Salary

You'll recieve an annual salary of £25,557 \- £29,723 per annum \- dependent on expereince

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks

What you'll be doing

As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

• Deliver exceptional care to patients, both in the healthcare department and on the wings


• Facilitate clinics, including bloods, observations (obs), ECGs, NHS Health checks etc


• Be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages


• Support the nursing team with all aspects of care


• Act as a second checker in pharmacy as required


• Support receptions (new patients entering the prison) and assist with triaging new patients


• You will primarily be working within the Primary Care team, although will be required to carry out duties in the Substance Misuse team

Our new Healthcare Assistant will:

• Ideally hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health \& Social Care, or Care Certificate


• Have experience within phlebotomy \- this is highly desirable!


• Have experience in a clinical care setting previously \- ideally from a hospital or prison setting


• Have clinical experience \- venepuncture, ECGs etc


• Have a non\-judgemental and compassionate approach
