The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, caring and friendly Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support our nursing and GP teams in delivering excellent patient care.

This is a fixed\-term position for 12\-months. The role will consist of approximately 20 hours per week (working days can be negotiated).

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will undertake a range of duties including:

• Phlebotomy (venepuncture)


• Blood pressure monitoring


• ECGs


• Height, weight and BMI measurements


• NHS Health Checks


• Supporting chronic disease management clinics


• Chaperoning patients when required


• Maintaining clinical equipment and infection control standards


• Stock management of clinical supplies


• Accurate clinical record keeping using our SystmOne clinical system


• Supporting clinicians in delivering safe, effective patient care


• Working to practice policies, procedures, and clinical protocols

• We are looking for someone who:


• Has previous experience working as an HCA, ideally in a primary care setting


• Holds relevant HCA qualifications/training (e.g., Care Certificate)


• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Is reliable, flexible, and committed to high standards of care


• Is confident using IT systems


• Is willing to undertake additional training as required


• Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
