We are seeking to appoint a motivated individual with a focus on person\-centred knowledge mobilisation to play a key role in delivery of the European IMPROVE (Innovation in person\-centred Medication Prescribing and Review for Optimal Value and Efficacy) programme.

IMPROVE aims to reduce medicines\-related adverse events and unscheduled hospital admissions by developing and implementing pharmacogenomics and polypharmacy decision support as part of person\-centred medicines review in primary care.

The postholder will provide knowledge mobilisation (including knowledge management) and decision support training and support across all stakeholders in the IMPROVE programme and community of practice, which involves approximately 400 patients, healthcare professionals, researchers and policy makers across three countries Scotland, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland.

This role will involve developing and delivering a work plan of sourcing and summarising evidence, training and support for the use of a range of knowledge mobilisation and decision support tools to facilitate effective sharing and use of evidence and knowledge across all stakeholders and the three healthcare jurisdictions (Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland) partnering in IMPROVE.

This role will ensure learning is shared across the programme and that the appropriate knowledge sources are available to support the development and implementation of improvement activity and the uptake of evidence into routine practice. Working closely with others this role will consider, develop, test and explore new techniques and methodologies for knowledge generation, capture, deployment and application.

You will be an excellent team worker with an ability to collaborate with colleagues in the RDS team, the international IMPROVE programme, wider Evidence and Digital Directorate, Healthcare Improvement Scotland and the wider health and social care system.

The successful candidate will hold a Postgraduate Masters qualification in a library, information or knowledge management\-related discipline or demonstrate an equivalent of experience. They will show commitment to, and experience of, knowledge mobilisation and community of practice development methods, user\-centred digital design and digital delivery of evidence in a way that supports decisions by clinicians and patients as well as development of policy and guidance. They will have experience of successfully communicating and analysing complex information, and will show that they find creative solutions to complex problems.

Healthcare Improvement Scotland’s Evidence and Digital Directorate is a complex and wide\-ranging directorate which develops and disseminates evidence\-based advice for NHS Scotland. Its outputs and activities include clinical guidelines, health technology assessment, evidence development, research, health economics, knowledge mobilisation and decision support for Healthcare Improvement Scotland and for external partners.
