The Role of the Health Care Assistant
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing high\-quality support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well\-being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be proficient in IT, and have a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. Previous experience in care environments is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive and professional environment.
Responsibilities of the Health Care Assistant
- Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support the implementation of personalised care plans tailored to individual needs
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents or clients
- Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems
- Communicate effectively with team members, residents, and family members to ensure seamless care delivery
- Assist with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Support with domestic tasks such as meal preparation and light cleaning when required
- Drive or accompany clients on outings or appointments as needed
- Valid driving licence and the ability to drive safely and confidently
- Experience working within a care home or home care environment is desirable but not mandatory
- Knowledge of care plans and procedures relevant to health and social care settings
- Proficiency in basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes
- Fluency in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Compassionate attitude with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills and attention to details
