Health Care Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing high\-quality support to individuals in care homes and home care settings, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring the well\-being of clients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be reliable, and committed to delivering person\-centred care. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between care locations. Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming


• Support clients with mobility and daily activities, promoting independence where possible


• Help in implementing and following personalised care plans tailored to individual needs


• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a caring environment


• Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns or changes in clients’ health status


• Assist with medication management as directed by healthcare professionals


• Support with light domestic duties including meal preparation and light cleaning tasks


• Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care


• Use IT systems to update client records securely and efficiently

Experience

• Previous experience working within a care home or home care environment is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided


• Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes


• Good command of English, both written and spoken, for effective communication with clients and team members


• Strong communication skills to build rapport with clients and colleagues


• Driving experience or a valid driving licence is desirable for travel between different care locations


• Knowledge of care plans and the ability to adapt support accordingly is beneficial
