Job Overview
AppLocum is currently recruiting an experienced Health Care Assistant (HCA) to provide locum cover at a welcoming GP practice in LS4, Leeds.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HCA looking for regular locum work within General Practice. The successful candidate will work alongside the practice's clinical team, supporting patients with routine clinical appointments and health checks.
SystmOne experience is essential for this role and some sort of experience with patients
Key Responsibilities
The successful HCA will be responsible for:
- Carrying out routine blood tests and BP checks
- Supporting Long\-Term Condition (LTC) reviews
- Conducting NHS Health Checks
- Managing 10\-minute blood test and BP appointments
- Conducting 20\-minute LTC reviews and NHS Health Checks
- Recording patient observations accurately
- Maintaining clear and accurate patient records
- Using clinical IT systems, including SystmOne
- Communicating effectively with patients and the wider practice team
- Working alongside nursing and clinical staff to provide safe, high\-quality, patient\-centred care
- Following practice policies, clinical protocols and health \& safety procedures
- Previous experience working as an HCA within a GP practice
- SystmOne experience – essential
- Experience carrying out bloods and BP checks
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider clinical team
- Professional, caring and patient\-focused approach
- Good IT and documentation skills
The practice requires cover from 8:30am – 5:00pm, although the hours can be negotiated.
Dates available:
- Wednesday 16th September – working alongside the Practice HCA
- Every Thursday and Friday until the end of October
Pay
£16\.50 per hour
