Health Care Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility


• Support the implementation and review of personalised care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team


• Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals under your care


• Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals, ensuring proper documentation


• Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in the individual's condition


• Assist with meal preparation and feeding when necessary


• Support residents or clients with light domestic tasks to promote independence and comfort


• Communicate effectively with team members, residents, families, and external healthcare professionals


• Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols at all times

Skills

• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written


• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple care responsibilities efficiently


• Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans digitally


• Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and professionalism when working with vulnerable individuals


• Valid driving licence is desirable for roles involving home care visits


• Experience working within a care home or home care environment is advantageous but not essential


• Knowledge of care plans and procedures relevant to healthcare assistance roles
