Health Care Assistant
We are currently recruiting an experienced Health Care Assistant to support a client on a one\-to\-one care basis in Mallow, Co. Cork.
This is a meaningful role for someone who is reliable, kind, patient, and confident in providing person\-centred care. The successful candidate will support the client with daily care needs, comfort, dignity, safety, and general wellbeing throughout the shift.
About the Role
You will be working directly with one client, providing dedicated support during the day. The role requires a caring and professional approach, good communication skills, and the ability to follow the care plan and instructions provided by the care team.
This position would suit a Health Care Assistant who takes pride in delivering high\-quality care and understands the importance of building trust with the client and their family.
Main Duties
Your duties may include:
- Providing one\-to\-one personal care and support
- Assisting with washing, dressing, grooming, and continence care where required
- Supporting mobility, transfers, and safe moving and handling
- Encouraging independence, dignity, and choice
- Monitoring the client’s general wellbeing and reporting any concerns
- Supporting with meals, drinks, and hydration
- Providing companionship and reassurance throughout the shift
- Following the client’s care plan and daily routine
- Maintaining clear and accurate care notes
- Working respectfully with the family, nurses, care team, and other professionals involved
Requirements
Applicants should have
- Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant, Care Assistant, Support Worker, or similar role
- Experience in one\-to\-one care is desirable
- A caring, calm, and professional attitude
- Good spoken English and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and responsibly
- Manual handling and patient moving experience
- Right to work in Ireland
- Willingness to complete Garda Vetting and compliance checks
- Relevant care training certificates would be an advantage
