Health Care Assistant (Bank staff)

Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Bank Health Care Assistants to join our team. This flexible role offers the opportunity to work across various care settings, providing essential support to residents and clients. The ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to adapt to different environments within the health and social care sector. Previous experience in care homes or home care is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Duties

• Assisting residents or clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support


• Supporting individuals with their daily routines in accordance with personalised care plans


• Monitoring and recording health and wellbeing, including vital signs and medication administration (if qualified)


• Providing companionship and emotional support to enhance residents' quality of life


• Assisting with meal preparation and feeding where necessary


• Ensuring a safe and clean environment by adhering to health and safety protocols


• Communicating effectively with team members, residents, and families to ensure high standards of care


• Supporting the implementation of care plans tailored to individual needs


• Assisting with light domestic duties within the care setting or clients’ homes

Experience

• Previous experience working in a care home or home care environment is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for those new to the sector


• Driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between different locations or clients’ homes


• Good command of English, both written and spoken, for effective communication with colleagues and service users


• Basic IT skills for documentation and updating care records


• Strong communication skills, empathy, and a professional attitude are essential for building trust with residents and colleagues
