An established and growing consultancy is looking to appoint a Health \& Safety Consultant to support the delivery of health, safety and compliance services across a diverse portfolio of construction projects across retail, healthcare, commercial and education.
The role offers a flexible hybrid working approach, allowing consultants to manage their own diary between site visits, home working and occasional office attendance.
The Role
As a Health \& Safety Consultant, you will support the delivery of CDM and health \& safety services across multiple projects, working closely with clients, contractors and design teams to ensure projects are compliant and operating to high safety standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertaking site inspections and health \& safety audits
- Producing clear reports and practical recommendations
- Reviewing Construction Phase Plans, RAMS, PCI documentation and H\&S Files
- Reviewing design risk assessments and supporting the principles of prevention
- Monitoring contractor compliance with CDM 2015 and UK H\&S legislation
- Attending project meetings and providing practical H\&S advice
- Supporting the preparation of H\&S documentation and compliance reports
- Assisting with design risk management across projects
- Reviewing fire safety documentation and Regulation 38 information
- Contributing to client H\&S policies, procedures and compliance frameworks
- 4–6 years’ experience in construction health \& safety or CDM advisory
- Experience undertaking site inspections, audits and reporting
- Strong understanding of CDM 2015 and UK H\&S legislation
- Experience reviewing RAMS, Construction Phase Plans or H\&S documentation
- Comfortable attending meetings with contractors, designers and clients
- NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate
- TechIOSH membership (or working towards)
- CSCS card
- Full UK driving licence
- APS membership (Associate level)
- Fire Risk Assessment training (e.g. Level 3 FRA)
- Experience supporting Principal Designer / CDM duties
- Additional training such as SMSTS, SSSTS or Temporary Works
- Salary up to £60,000 depending on experience
- 27 days annual leave plus public holidays
