IASME is a UK cyber security assurance organisation that works with government and industry to help organisations improve cyber resilience. We support organisations and individuals through assurance, assessment and skills development.

We are recruiting a Head of Training \& Professional Pathways (Cyber Security) to provide senior leadership across our training portfolio and professional career pathway strategy—ensuring our offer remains coherent, high\-quality, inclusive and aligned to recognised professional standards.

The role

This is a senior role with responsibility to set direction, establish quality governance, and lead delivery through experienced managers.

You will:

• Define and lead IASME’s training and professional career pathway strategy for cyber security individuals, maintaining a 3–5 year view of sector needs and translating this into an executable roadmap.


• Provide portfolio leadership across external training and assessment, setting standards and governance and partnering with the External Training Manager to agree priorities, quality measures and improvement plans.


• Lead the development of clear training\-to\-career guidance by connecting IASME’s courses, schemes and assessment services into joined\-up professional journeys.


• Work closely with the Head of Professional Registration to align training and assessment provision to the UK Cyber Security Council (UKCSC) professional levels (and related frameworks where appropriate).


• Provide senior sponsorship for internal learning and development, working closely with HR enabling the L\&D Manager to lead strategy and delivery.


• Support apprenticeships growth by working closely with Business Development leadership to ensure propositions align to IASME’s career pathway strategy and are delivered with a strong learner journey and quality governance.

Leadership scope

At the outset, the role is expected to line manage leadership for:

• External Training (e.g., the Training Manager role and associated team)


• Internal Learning \& Development (e.g., the L\&D Manager role and associated team)

The team structure may evolve over time as IASME’s career pathway\-related schemes and teams develop.

What we are looking for

Essential

• Strong understanding of the cyber security sector, including skills needs, role families, and professional progression.


• Proven track record leading training provision, including curriculum/content development and quality assurance.


• Experience designing or governing professional career pathways and/or competency\-aligned programmes (e.g., mapping to professional frameworks/levels).


• Demonstrated people leadership experience, including leading managers and building high\-performing teams.


• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate complex information into clear plans.

Desirable

• Experience working with professional standards bodies, accreditation, registration schemes, or assurance/assessment services.


• Familiarity with UKCSC professional levels and related competency frameworks.


• Experience improving accessibility and inclusion in professional education.


• Experience developing or delivering apprenticeships programmes or employer\-facing skills solutions.

Pay: Up to £45,000\.00 per year
