Head of Solar Operations – Build & Lead New Solar PV Division

We are an established and growing home improvement company with a strong reputation in the double glazing industry, now launching a dedicated Solar PV division.

We are looking for an experienced and driven Head of Solar Operations to take ownership of this new division and help build it from the ground up. This is a senior leadership role with genuine opportunity to shape and grow a renewable energy business within an already successful company.

This role would suit someone with experience in the solar industry who understands both operational delivery and commercial growth, and who is excited by the opportunity to build something long term.

The Role

You will be responsible for launching, organising, and overseeing the day\-to\-day running of the Solar PV division, including compliance, sales operations, installations, and team management.

You will work closely with the directors to establish systems, processes, and teams that allow the division to scale successfully.

Responsibilities

• Lead the setup and operational launch of the Solar PV division


• Manage and oversee MCS accreditation and ongoing compliance


• Coordinate DNO/G98/G99 applications and processes


• Build relationships with suppliers and installation teams


• Recruit, manage, and support sales representatives and installers


• Oversee install scheduling and operational workflow


• Implement systems and processes for customer journey and project delivery


• Ensure high standards of customer service and installation quality


• Monitor KPIs, margins, and operational performance


• Help drive growth and expansion of the renewables division

Requirements

• Previous experience within the Solar PV industry


• Strong understanding of MCS standards and compliance


• Experience managing solar installations and operational teams


• Knowledge of DNO/G99 processes


• Leadership and people management experience


• Commercial awareness and organisational skills


• Ability to work independently and take ownership


• Full UK driving licence

Desirable

• Experience launching or scaling a solar division/business


• Existing installer or supplier relationships


• Experience with battery storage and renewable technologies


• Knowledge of CRM systems and lead management

Pay: £65,000\.00\-£130,000\.00 per year
