This is an opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role within a fast\-growing private tutoring organisation, where your impact will directly shape the business's future.

We're looking for someone tenacious and ambitious — someone who can own both new and existing business, grow the market, and execute an expansion strategy that takes us into new regions and channels.

You won't just inherit a function — you'll help build it, and then triple it.

Working closely with the Commercial Director and the wider leadership team, you'll own the entire sales function — new business, existing accounts, the regional KAMs, the Schools BDM, and the operational sales support beneath them.

This role offers genuine progression potential into Senior Leadership over time for the right individual.

Core Accountability

Owns the revenue number and the sales engine — new and existing business across all channels and regions, market growth, and execution of the expansion strategy.

Your Five Key Responsibilities

  • The revenue number — new business AND existing account growth

  • Leads and coaches the KAMs, Schools BDM and growth\-region RCMs

  • Pipeline, conversion and forecast discipline across new and existing

  • Market growth — proactively opens new councils, schools and channels

  • Executes the expansion strategy (new regions and channels) with the Commercial Director
The Opportunity

As Head of Sales, you'll take ownership of growth strategy, revenue generation, and the full client lifecycle across schools, Multi\-Academy Trusts (MATs), Local Education Authorities (LEAs), and wider public sector organisations — winning new business, growing existing accounts, and executing the expansion strategy into new regions and channels.

You'll combine strategic thinking with hands\-on commercial leadership — driving conversions, defending and growing existing accounts, securing new partnerships, and developing a scalable sales function. You will own the revenue commitment and the forecast that gets us there.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Owns the revenue target — both new business and existing account growth

  • Develops and executes the sales and market\-expansion strategy across regions and channels

  • Wins new partnerships with schools, MATs, LEAs and public sector bodies

  • Leads and develops the regional Key Account Managers, the Schools BDM and the Junior RCM

  • Drives the entire sales cycle — pipeline, conversion, renewal and account growth

  • Grows the market — identifies and opens new regions, councils and school accounts ahead of demand

  • Executes the expansion strategy (e.g., new geographic regions, schools\-direct channel) in partnership with the Commercial Director

  • Engages senior stakeholders — Headteachers, Trust CEOs, Heads of SEND, Local Authority leaders

  • Collaborates with marketing to maximise campaigns and lead generation

  • Uses data, pipeline reporting and market insight to drive performance and forecast accuracy

  • Supports bids, tenders and procurement opportunities alongside the Commercial Director

  • Represents the organisation at industry events and conferences

  • Delivers against ambitious revenue, conversion and growth targets
What We're Looking For
  • Proven track record in Business Development, Sales, or Commercial Growth

  • Experience winning B2B and/or B2G business

  • Strong ability to generate revenue and convert opportunities

  • Experience leading, motivating, or developing teams

  • Commercially focused with a highly driven mindset

  • Confident communicator and relationship builder

  • Resilient, proactive, and target\-oriented

  • Ambitious with a desire to progress into Senior Leadership
Nice to Have (But Not Essential)
  • Education sector or public sector experience

  • Knowledge of schools, MATs, or local authorities

  • Understanding of public sector procurement/tender processes

  • Experience within consultative or solution\-based sales
