Job Overview

The Head of Health Screening Division is a senior divisional leadership role with accountability for creating, shaping and scaling a distinct health screening business within Square Health. This role carries strategic, commercial and clinical leadership responsibility for a specialist insurance screening proposition, including premium High Net Worth (HNW) and Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients, broker and insurer engagement, divisional growth and P\&L performance.

We envisage the successful candidate to either have a clinical background (nurse or other health care background) or strong record of divisional leadership. The initial priority is to build a best\-in\-class screening service for HNW and UHNW clients introduced through specialist insurance brokers and advisers. These cases require a highly bespoke, discreet and concierge\-level approach, supported by dedicated processes, rigorous training, exceptional communication and consistently outstanding relationship management.

Following the successful rollout of the HNW/UHNW proposition, the postholder will lead the growth and development of Square Health's broader insurance screening business, typically supporting lower\- to mid\-value life insurance cases. The model for this part of the division will require the same standards of clinical quality and customer care, delivered through efficient, scalable and digitally enabled processes.

The postholder will provide divisional ownership, oversight and delivery of the commercial model and governance framework for the division, external market leadership, working with operational teams where required but retaining senior accountability for proposition design, market positioning, clinical standards, partner confidence, P\&L performance and long\-term business growth.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Senior divisional strategy and ownership. Define and lead the strategic direction of the Health Screening Division, with accountability for embedding the proposition, market positioning, growth priorities, governance standards, commercial performance and long\-term scalability.

  • HNW and UHNW service development. Embed a differentiated, concierge\-level screening service for high\-level of insurance cover. Ensure every stage of the journey is responsive, discreet, carefully coordinated and tailored to the requirements of the individual case, broker and insurer.

  • Broker, adviser and insurer relationships. Build trusted senior relationships with specialist brokers, advisers, insurers, underwriters and other key stakeholders. Act as the senior escalation point for important or complex cases and ensure Square Health is recognised for reliability, judgement, responsiveness and service quality.

  • Oversee the model delivery and transition governance. Oversee the transition of screening activity into a dedicated divisional model, setting clear governance, quality controls, escalation routes and performance measures. Collaborate with operational leadership on implementation while retaining senior accountability for the model, standards and outcomes.

  • Digital enablement and technology alignment. Work closely with Square Health's technology and product teams to adapt and deploy existing digital capabilities across screening. Use technology to improve booking, workflow, case visibility, communication, reporting and operational efficiency, while preserving the human, concierge experience required for HNW/UHNW clients.

  • Commercial and P\&L responsibility. Own the division's revenue, costs, margin, budget and forecast. Develop pricing and commercial models, manage capacity and supplier costs, monitor pipeline and conversion, and make evidence\-based decisions that balance growth, service quality and profitability.

  • Growth of the broader insurance screening business. Following successful establishment of the HNW/UHNW service, develop and execute the plan to grow Square Health's general insurance screening activity, particularly life insurance screening for lower\-value insurance cover. Identify opportunities to expand existing relationships and win new insurer and broker business.

  • Strategic market expansion. Develop and execute the growth strategy for Square Health's insurance screening portfolio, using the HNW/UHNW proposition as a differentiated entry point and building a broader pathway for insurer, broker and partner\-led expansion.

  • Clinical quality, governance and risk. Ensure the division operates within Square Health's clinical governance, safeguarding, information governance, confidentiality and risk\-management frameworks. Work closely with clinical leadership so that service innovation and commercial growth never compromise safety or clinical quality.

  • Service performance and continuous improvement. Define and track meaningful service and commercial measures, including turnaround times, service quality, client feedback, complaints, broker satisfaction, productivity, revenue and margin. Use data, case reviews and feedback to drive continuous improvement.

  • Supplier and delivery network management. Ensure external clinical and diagnostic capacity supports the required service levels, geographic coverage and quality standards. Oversee supplier performance and escalation where this affects the customer journey or commercial performance.

  • Cross\-functional leadership. Work closely with Operations, Clinical, Technology, Product, Commercial, Finance, Legal, Information Governance and the Executive Team to ensure the division is integrated with the wider Square Health business and benefits fully from existing capabilities.
Skills \& Experience Required:
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, with substantial post\-registration experience and the credibility to provide senior clinical judgement in the development of screening services. Alternatively, an equivalent health care background in another medical discipline or if non\-clinical, a strong record of divisional leadership.

  • Experience operating at senior divisional, head\-of\-function or equivalent level, with responsibility extending beyond day\-to\-day operations into commercial strategy, stakeholder confidence, governance and business growth.

  • Senior leadership experience within insurance screening, private healthcare, diagnostics, concierge medicine or another regulated healthcare service.

  • Strong understanding of life insurance screening and the expectations of brokers, insurers, underwriters and high\-value clients; direct experience in this market is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrable experience of delivering or leading premium, high\-touch services for HNW/UHNW clients or similarly demanding customer groups.

  • Proven commercial leadership, including ownership of budgets, revenue, margin, pricing, forecasting and P\&L performance.

  • Experience transferring, redesigning and scaling processes, with a strong continuous\-improvement mindset.

  • Confidence working with digital products and technology teams to translate operational requirements into practical, customer\-focused solutions.

  • Exceptional relationship\-management skills, with the credibility to engage senior brokers, insurers, clients and internal executives.

  • Proven people leadership, coaching and performance\-management capability, including the ability to build high standards of customer service and accountability.

  • Understanding of governance, confidentiality, safeguarding, information security and risk in healthcare delivery.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organisation, prioritisation and problem\-solving skills.

  • Comfort working with a high degree of autonomy and accountability in a growing business division.
Behaviours Required:
  • Acts with the ownership, judgement and commercial discipline expected of a senior divisional leader.

  • Is relentlessly focused on customer experience and on building a service that is genuinely differentiated in the market.

  • Demonstrates discretion, integrity and professionalism in every interaction.

  • Builds trust through responsiveness, empathy, sound judgement and reliable delivery.

  • Combines attention to detail with the ability to think strategically and scale for growth.

  • Uses technology and data pragmatically to improve both service and economics.

  • Remains calm, decisive and solution\-focused when dealing with complex, sensitive or time\-critical cases.

  • Sets demanding standards for self and others while creating a supportive, accountable team culture.

  • Works collaboratively across functions without losing personal ownership for outcomes.

  • Balances clinical quality, customer needs and commercial performance appropriately.
What Success Looks Like:
  • A recognised premium proposition. Square Health is regarded by specialist brokers and insurers as a leading provider for HNW and UHNW insurance screening, with an experience that is demonstrably responsive, discreet and best\-in\-class.

  • A robust, scalable operating model. Current processes have been successfully transferred, documented and improved, with clear ownership, strong controls and appropriate di
