Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Finance \& Governance to lead our financial management and governance functions. The successful candidate will oversee financial planning, reporting, and compliance, ensuring the organisation's financial health aligns with its strategic objectives. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong leadership skills to contribute significantly to organisational growth and stability.
Duties
- Develop and implement financial strategies that support organisational goals.
- Oversee financial accounting processes, including ledger management, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely processing and accuracy.
- Monitor and control costs across departments to optimise efficiency in preparing the annual budget.
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and governance standards, including Charity Law and standards advised by the Charities Commission.
- Provide leadership to the Finance Team, Fundraising Manager, and Marketing \& Membership Manager, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Oversee preparation of detailed financial reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
- Ongoingly develop robust internal controls to safeguard organisational assets.
- Collaborate with other departments to support organisational initiatives through sound financial advice.
- Proven expertise in financial management and accounting principles.
- Strong background in financial services and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience managing teams.
- Excellent financial planning and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in managing accounts payable processes and cost control measures.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.
- Organised with a meticulous attention to detail.
