We're a fast\-growing commercial business based near Doncaster Airport, currently around 12 people and scaling fast. We work at pace, we're investing heavily in technology and automation, and we're looking for a Head of Finance to come in and own the finance function completely.

This is a hands\-on ownership role — not a team management position. You'll be the lead internal finance person, supported by external accountants for higher\-level technical work, but everything operational is yours to run and improve.

What you'll be doing

  • Day\-to\-day finance operations — reconciliations, payments, invoicing, expenses, refunds and adjustments

  • Weekly cashflow updates and monthly management reports

  • Month\-end support and liaison with external accountants

  • Managing recurring costs, subscriptions, insurance and renewals

  • Building better systems, controls and reporting as the business grows

  • Introducing dashboards and automation to give leadership clearer financial visibility

  • Working closely with senior leadership — you'll be in the room, not in the background

What we're looking for
  • Proven experience owning a finance function in a small or growing business

  • Highly organised, accurate and reliable

  • Confident with Xero or similar

  • Strong on cashflow, reconciliations, payments and reporting

  • Self\-sufficient — you don't need hand\-holding

  • Genuinely curious about automation and smarter ways of working

  • Commercially aware, calm under pressure, and not afraid to flag issues early
