Head of Finance Business Partnering
At Sheffield Forgemasters we have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Finance Business Partnering to join our team, on a 12 months fixed term contract.
This role is based at our 64\-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, and will be working as part of our Finance department who play a crucial role in ensuring the organisation's financial health, operational efficiency, and strategic growth. Covering everything from day\-to\-day financial operations to long\-term financial planning \& analysis, and including the delivery of our recapitalisation programme.
As a Head of Finance Business Partnering, you will lead the Finance Business Partnering team function to drive operational excellence, commercial effectiveness and long\-term value creation.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead, develop and manage the Finance Business Partnering Team, ensuring effective performance management, coaching, compliance, and delivery of departmental \& organisation objectives.
- Manage contract costing, defence repricing, and revenue recognition activities.
- Oversee financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit compliance.
- Deliver financial analysis and commentary to support business performance.
- Support cost management, budgeting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and appraise capital investment (CapEx) projects.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant post\-qualification experience.
- Strong background in manufacturing finance, including standard costing and cost accounting.
- Experience of long\-term contract accounting, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced financial analysis, reporting and problem\-solving skills.
- Strong Excel modelling capability, with the ability to interpret and present complex data.
- Experience of ERP systems and maintaining robust financial controls.
- Proven leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Able to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools is desirable.
The Working Pattern
This is a full\-time role working 37\.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday. We offer flexibility in our start and finish times between 06:15 \- 09:30 and 14:30 – 18:00\.

Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 \- 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
