The role is both strategic and operational, requiring someone who can lead from the front, deliver high\-quality financial reporting, and provide clear, commercially focused insight to the directors. You will be responsible for the production of board\-level reporting, maintaining strong cash visibility, and ensuring the finance function operates efficiently and reliably on a day\-to\-day basis.
This is not a traditional reporting\-led finance role. While you will retain full accountability for the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reporting and ratio analysis, the core of this position is commercial leadership and strategic influence.
You will act as a key advisor to the Board, providing clear, data\-driven guidance to support decision\-making across the group. This includes enforcing financial discipline in capital allocation, supporting investment acquisitions, and overseeing the ongoing performance and optimisation of the property portfolio.
In addition, you will work closely with the Sales and Marketing leadership teams to bring clarity to performance across the funnel, identifying conversion trends, diagnosing leakage points, and guiding where capital should be deployed to maximise return on ad spend. Your insight will directly influence monthly and quarterly investment decisions across our marketing channels.
This role requires someone who can move beyond the numbers, with direct commercial experience translating financial data into actionable strategy, challenging assumptions, and driving accountability across the business.
This is a unique opportunity to work directly with the directors, contribute to key business decisions, and be part of a fast\-growing, entrepreneurial business where your input will have a direct and visible impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership \& Reporting
- Own the production and delivery of monthly management accounts across all group entities (P\&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Prepare and present board packs with clear commentary, insights, and recommendations
- Ensure accurate and timely accrual accounting across all businesses
- Maintain full visibility and control of the group’s financial position
- Provide clear reporting on financial performance, cash position, and risk
- Own and manage cash flow forecasting and ensure visibility of cash availability across the group
- Ensure strong control over working capital, including receivables and payables
- Oversee day\-to\-day finance operations, including payment runs and cash allocation
- Ensure all financial decisions are made with clear visibility of cash impact
- Oversee credit control processes and ensure timely collection of funds
- Implement and maintain strong financial controls and processes
- Act as a key financial advisor to the directors
- Provide financial analysis and insight to support strategic and operational decisions
- Deliver budget vs actual analysis with clear recommendations
- Translate financial data into actionable insight to improve business performance
- Deliver monthly ratio analysis across all business units with clear performance insight
- Own and deliver marketing financial reporting, including ROAS, CAC, LTV and funnel performance
- Lead financial modelling and due diligence for company acquisitions and new opportunities
- Provide clear ROI\-driven recommendations on investments and capital allocation
- Lead and develop a high\-performing finance team
- Ensure the team delivers all day\-to\-day finance responsibilities accurately and on time
- Drive accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement across the function
- Monitor performance and improve efficiency and output across the team
- Ensure all HMRC, VAT, and Companies House obligations are met in full and on time
- Maintain zero tolerance for late submissions or compliance failures
- Improve systems, processes, and reporting frameworks as the business scales
- Drive the use of technology, including artificial intelligence and automation to improve efficiency and reduce costs
