Head of Asset Management \& Commercial Property

Employer: Public Sector

Location: Hybrid – Colchester (typically 1 day per week in the office)

Salary: c.£83,500 \+ Local Government Pension \& Benefits

A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced property professional to take ownership of a substantial and diverse commercial investment property portfolio valued at over £250m.

Reporting into the Director of Estates, you will lead the strategic management of a significant investment and development portfolio, driving income performance, delivering capital receipts, and identifying opportunities to maximise value across a wide range of commercial assets.

This is a highly autonomous leadership role suited to someone who enjoys making decisions, taking ownership, and delivering tangible commercial outcomes. You'll oversee a small, experienced team alongside leading external advisors, agents and consultants, giving you the platform to focus on strategy, asset performance and portfolio optimisation rather than day\-to\-day micromanagement.

Key priorities include:

• Delivering an ambitious disposal and capital receipts programme with the assistance of renowned investment agents.


• Driving income and value from a diverse commercial portfolio


• Leading strategic asset management initiatives and investment decisions


• Managing external consultants, managing agents and professional advisors


• Working closely with senior stakeholders to support long term financial sustainability


• Identifying redevelopment, repositioning and asset enhancement opportunities

The portfolio includes retail, leisure, industrial, office and ground lease interests, alongside major regeneration and development opportunities.

We're keen to speak with commercially minded senior level asset management professionals from either the public or private sector. Previous experience managing investment property, disposals, acquisitions, landlord \& tenant matters and portfolio strategy will be highly advantageous.
