Fleetwood Town Football Club is looking for an experienced, motivated and commercially minded Head Chef to lead the kitchen operation at Poolfoot Farm. From fuelling the First Team and Academy to delivering memorable food for FTIFA, customers and events, you will shape an offer that performs at the highest level every service, every matchday and every occasion.

The opportunity
This is a senior, hands\-on role for a chef who combines creativity with operational discipline. You will lead all kitchen activity, develop menus with the Food \& Beverage Manager and make sure the right people, produce and equipment are ready for every service. You will also take ownership of kitchen profitability, balancing exceptional standards with effective cost, labour, stock and waste control.
What you’ll lead
· Lead day\-to\-day kitchen operations, setting consistently high standards for food quality, presentation, service and customer experience.
· Plan creative, practical menus and food offers for the First Team, Academy, FTIFA, Poolfoot Farm customers and Club events.
· Forecast and deliver multiple services and events, coordinating preparation, staffing, stock, equipment and timings.
· Drive kitchen performance through food\-cost and portion control, smart labour planning, accurate purchasing, stock management and waste reduction.
· Maintain clear recipe specifications, costings, allergen information and presentation standards so every dish is delivered consistently.
· Own food safety and compliance, including HACCP\-based procedures, temperature controls, cleaning schedules, labelling, date coding, COSHH, fire safety and health and safety.
· Lead allergen management and dietary controls, ensuring information is accurate and the team follows agreed procedures.
· Recruit, motivate, coach and develop Sous Chefs, Chefs de Partie and casual or event colleagues, creating a professional and positive kitchen culture.
· Build effective rotas in line with demand and budget, support attendance processes and run focused pre\-shift briefings.
· Work closely with front\-of\-house colleagues, Club departments, suppliers and contractors to deliver seamless service and resolve issues quickly.
· Support monthly forecasting, event planning and continuous improvement, using customer feedback to strengthen food quality, service and menu development.
· Keep all kitchen equipment, workspaces and storage areas in excellent condition, escalating and coordinating maintenance promptly.
What you’ll bring
· Proven experience as a Head Chef, Senior Sous Chef or comparable senior kitchen leader in high\-volume hospitality, events, leisure, hotel, stadium or a similar fast\-paced setting.
· A strong record of leading, scheduling and motivating kitchen teams while delivering multiple services or events.
· Excellent working knowledge of food safety, hygiene, HACCP, allergen management and health and safety requirements.
· Hands\-on experience of menu planning, recipe development, food costing, purchasing, stock control and waste management.
· Commercial awareness, with the confidence to manage food margins, labour costs, budgets and departmental performance.
· Level 2 Food Safety/Hygiene qualification or equivalent.
· Strong organisation, planning, communication and time\-management skills.
· A calm, decisive and solutions\-focused approach, with high culinary standards and excellent attention to detail.
· Confidence using standard IT systems for rotas, ordering, stock control, purchasing and administration.
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, matchdays and events in line with business requirements.
It would be an advantage if you have
· A relevant professional cookery or culinary qualification.
· Level 3 Food Safety/Hygiene, allergen awareness, first aid or fire safety training—or a willingness to complete these.
· Experience within professional sport, stadium catering or a performance\-focused food environment.
