About the role
Could you inspire someone to choose their future?
Reaseheath College and University Centre is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and engaging HE Student Recruitment \& Outreach Officer to help us grow our undergraduate community.
This is not a desk\-based recruitment role. You will be out meeting prospective students, talking to parents, teachers and careers advisers, attending and hosting events, visiting schools and colleges, and bringing our distinctive university\-level offer to life.
Our students can study subjects they are genuinely passionate about – from Zoology, Animal Science and Zoo Management to Equine Science, Canine Behaviour, Veterinary Nursing, Conservation \& Wildlife, Sustainable Agriculture, Sustainable Business and Landscape Architecture.
With access to a specialist campus, industry\-standard facilities and a growing portfolio of higher education programmes, there is a great story to tell. We need someone who is excited to tell it.
Key responsibilities
You will take an active role in growing undergraduate recruitment by:
- Building strong, lasting relationships with schools, sixth forms, colleges, teachers, careers advisers and other key partners.
- Representing University Centre Reaseheath at UCAS recruitment fairs, careers events and outreach activities locally and regionally.
- Designing and delivering engaging presentations, workshops, campus visits and recruitment events that make prospective students want to find out more.
- Working with our academic teams to showcase our courses, specialist facilities, industry links and career opportunities.
- Engaging our own College students and helping them see the opportunities available to progress into higher education at Reaseheath.
- Supporting applicants throughout their journey from initial enquiry through to enrolment, including targeted keep\-warm and conversion activity.
- Developing new outreach opportunities and feeder relationships that support growth across our HE portfolio.
- Using recruitment and event data to understand what works and help us continually improve our activity.
- Supporting our commitment to widening participation and ensuring higher education opportunities are accessible to students from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Who are we looking for?
You will be confident walking into a room and starting conversations, comfortable presenting to groups, organised enough to make an event happen successfully and enthusiastic about helping people make one of the biggest decisions of their lives.
Experience in education, student recruitment, outreach, events, marketing, sales, customer engagement or working with young people would all provide a strong foundation for the role. We are particularly interested in people who can demonstrate excellent communication, relationship\-building and event delivery skills.
You do not need to have followed a traditional student recruitment career path. A graduate would be particularly well placed to understand the undergraduate decision\-making journey and to talk authentically to prospective students about choosing a course and university experience.
You are likely to thrive in this role if you are:
- Naturally engaging, approachable and enthusiastic.
- A confident communicator and presenter.
- Good at building relationships and maintaining them.
- Creative and willing to try new approaches to recruitment and outreach.
- Highly organised and comfortable coordinating events.
- Proactive – someone who spots opportunities rather than waiting for them.
- Comfortable working independently as well as with academic, marketing and admissions colleagues.
- Genuinely excited by the opportunity to grow college\-based higher education and the specialist subjects we offer.
Why Reaseheath?
This is an opportunity to join University Centre Reaseheath at an exciting point in its development.
Our specialist higher education provision connects students with subjects, facilities and industries that are difficult to replicate in a traditional university environment. From animals, conservation and veterinary nursing to sustainable agriculture, food systems and business, our curriculum is closely connected to the industries our graduates want to enter.
You will have the opportunity to make this role your own – developing relationships, creating engaging recruitment activity and seeing the direct impact of your work as prospective students become applicants and ultimately enrol at Reaseheath.
We can offer you:
- 47 days annual leave including Bank Holidays and Christmas Closure
- Generous pension scheme with an employer contribution of 19\.8%
- Enhanced maternity and adoption pay
- Enhanced sick pay
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Pluxee reward scheme
- Free on site gym membership
- Onsite Starbucks along with multiple restaurant and cafe outlets
- Access to a multitude of external benefits through local businesses to the Cheshire area
- Specialist equipment reflecting industry practice
