The Glassworks HealthClub has been a well\-known and established name in Cambridge for over 20 years, providing members with a quality environment for fitness, health and wellbeing.

We are looking for an energetic, commercially focused and hands\-on Gym \& Spa Manager to lead our small team and take responsibility for the continued success and development of the HealthClub.

Working as part of The Varsity Hotel \& Spa, Cambridge, you will report directly to the Directors and have a genuine opportunity to influence the future of the HealthClub.

The Role

This is a hands\-on position. You will be visible on the HealthClub floor, working alongside your team, engaging with members and ensuring the highest standards of service and presentation.

Your key priorities will be:

· Driving new membership sales and achieving membership targets.

· Retaining existing members and reducing cancellations.

· Building strong relationships with members and creating a genuine HealthClub community.

· Identifying new opportunities to grow membership and revenue.

· Managing and developing a small, dedicated team.

· Ensuring excellent standards across the Gym, Spa and HealthClub facilities.

· Working closely with The Varsity Hotel \& Spa to maximise opportunities between the HealthClub, Spa and hotel.

· Monitoring performance, budgets and departmental costs.

· Dealing confidently with member feedback and resolving issues quickly.

Health, Safety \& Compliance

You will have overall responsibility for ensuring the HealthClub operates safely and in accordance with company procedures and relevant legislation, including:

· Health \& Safety compliance.

· Fire safety and emergency procedures.

· Risk assessments and safety checks.

· Gym equipment safety and maintenance.

· Spa and facility safety.

· Accident and incident reporting.

· Staff training and appropriate safety procedures.

· Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

· Experienced in managing a gym, health club, Spa, leisure or hospitality operation.

· Commercially driven with a proven ability to increase membership sales and member retention.

· A confident and hands\-on leader who enjoys working with a small team.

· Passionate about fitness, health, wellbeing and customer service.

· Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

· Confident managing Health \& Safety and operational standards.

· Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility.

· A strong communicator who builds excellent relationships with members and colleagues.

· We are about to start completely refurbishing the wet area of the spa so it is an exciting opportunity to be part of this re\-development.

A Level 2 Fitness qualification, Personal Training qualification or relevant industry experience would be advantageous but it is not vital, a positive attitude to lead and be hands on is the most important aspect.
