Shape the strategic direction of a global logistics group
At GLS Group HQ in Amsterdam, we are looking for a high\-calibre Group Strategy Manager to join our Group Strategy \& CEO Office team.
Reporting to the Head of Group Strategy \& CEO Office, who reports directly to the CEO, you will work at the centre of the Group’s most important strategic priorities. You will help shape decisions that drive long\-term value creation across GLS, working closely with senior leadership and contributing to topics discussed at Executive Board level.
This is a high\-impact role for a structured, ambitious, and business\-minded strategist who wants to influence the future direction of an international logistics group operating across Europe and beyond.
Your Impact
As Group Strategy Manager, you will:
- Lead high\-priority strategic projects across the Group, from problem definition and analysis through to recommendations, stakeholder alignment, and implementation support.
- Support the development and refinement of GLS’s long\-term corporate strategy, working closely with senior leadership on key strategic questions and growth priorities.
- Translate complex business questions, market developments, competitive dynamics, and internal performance data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
- Identify, evaluate, and shape new business opportunities, including growth initiatives, digital \& innovation topics, and M\&A opportunities.
- Develop high\-quality executive materials, including strategic narratives, decision papers, presentations, and recommendations for senior stakeholders and the Executive Board.
- Drive market intelligence and competitive analysis to inform strategic choices, portfolio decisions, and business priorities.
- Build strong relationships across countries, functions, and business units, acting as a trusted thought partner and creating alignment around key strategic priorities.
- Take ownership of workstreams and proactively move topics forward in a hands\-on, entrepreneurial way.
- 4–7 years of experience in top\-tier management consulting, corporate strategy, M\&A, private equity, or a similarly demanding strategic environment.
- Strong conceptual and quantitative problem\-solving skills, with the ability to break down ambiguous topics into structured analyses and practical recommendations.
- Proven experience leading strategic projects and managing stakeholders across complex organisations.
- Excellent business judgment, with the ability to connect strategic thinking to operational and financial implications.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to create crisp executive presentations, compelling storylines, and decision\-ready materials.
- Confidence and maturity in working with senior leaders across functions, geographies, and cultures.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience in leveraging AI tools to improve analysis, productivity, and communication is a plus.
- A proactive, self\-starting mindset with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Fluency in English; additional European languages are an advantage.
- Work on high\-impact strategic priorities at the center of an international logistics group.
- Partner closely with senior leadership and contribute to topics discussed at Executive Board level.
