Location: London, across seven restaurant venues
Salary: up to £45,000 per year, depending on experience
Contract: Full time, permanent
Working pattern: Primarily Monday to Friday, with flexibility for important evening and weekend events

About the role

We are looking for a commercially driven Group Sales and Events Manager to grow group bookings, private dining, corporate events, celebrations and festive sales across our seven London restaurants and three Italian concepts.

This is a sales role first. The successful candidate will take ownership of the complete journey, from generating leads and responding to enquiries, through to converting bookings, securing deposits and coordinating a strong operational handover.

The objective is simple, increase event revenue, improve enquiry conversion and build lasting relationships with corporate clients, local businesses, hotels, concierge teams, event planners and private customers.

Key responsibilitiesSales and business development

  • Generate new corporate, private and agency business across all venues

  • Proactively contact companies, offices, event agencies, hotels, concierge teams and local organisations

  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline

  • Manage all group and event enquiries from first contact to confirmed booking

  • Respond quickly and professionally to every enquiry

  • Conduct venue show rounds and client meetings

  • Prepare proposals, menus and event packages

  • Negotiate within approved pricing and commercial guidelines

  • Secure signed agreements, deposits and final payments

  • Follow up lost enquiries and record why business was not converted

  • Build repeat business rather than relying only on incoming enquiries
Group bookings and events
  • Sell birthdays, weddings, corporate dinners, Christmas parties, private dining, product launches and restaurant takeovers

  • Match each enquiry with the right venue, menu and experience

  • Maximise spend through drinks packages, welcome drinks, upgrades and additional services

  • Maintain accurate booking details, guest numbers, timings, dietary requirements and payment deadlines

  • Prepare clear event function sheets and handovers for restaurant managers

  • Attend important events when commercially or operationally necessary

  • Follow up after each event and encourage repeat bookings and referrals

  • Work closely with restaurant managers to protect capacity and maximise table utilisation
Commercial management
  • Set weekly, monthly and annual sales plans

  • Track enquiries, conversion, confirmed revenue, lost business and average spend

  • Forecast future group and event revenue

  • Monitor deposits, payment deadlines and outstanding balances with Finance

  • Analyse performance by venue, customer type, occasion and lead source

  • Identify quieter periods and create targeted sales activity to fill them

  • Provide a concise weekly sales report with results, risks and actions

  • Ensure discounts and complimentary items are authorised and commercially justified
Marketing and partnerships
  • Work with Marketing to create event packages, digital materials and targeted campaigns

  • Build relationships with local businesses, schools, residential developments and community organisations

  • Develop relationships with event planners, concierge teams and corporate bookers

  • Keep venue listings, event information and sales materials accurate

  • Support festive campaigns, January events and other key trading periods
Skills and experience

Essential

  • At least three years of hospitality sales or event sales experience

  • Experience selling restaurants, hotels, venues or premium hospitality

  • Strong evidence of achieving revenue targets

  • Confident managing both incoming enquiries and proactive business development

  • Excellent written and spoken English

  • Strong negotiation and relationship building skills

  • Highly organised, commercially aware and comfortable working across multiple venues

  • Confident using booking systems, CRM tools, spreadsheets and sales reports

  • Able to work independently and take full ownership of results
Desirable
  • Existing relationships with London corporate bookers and event agencies

  • Experience with ResDiary or a similar restaurant booking system

  • Knowledge of the London restaurant and events market

  • Italian language skills

  • Experience selling festive parties and large group dining
The person we are looking for

You are energetic, organised and commercially hungry. You do not wait for enquiries to arrive. You create opportunities, follow up consistently and know how to close business.

You understand that a booking is not complete until the deposit is paid, the details are accurate and the operations team has received a proper handover.

You are confident speaking with corporate clients, private organisers, managers and restaurant teams. You are comfortable being accountable for numbers and explaining what you will do when performance is below target.

Pay: Up to £45,000\.00 per year
