Are you a graduate considering a future in teaching? Our Graduate Teacher Training Pathway has been designed to provide aspiring teachers with the experience, skills, and confidence needed to progress into a salaried teacher training programme.
This opportunity offers a structured route into education, allowing you to gain valuable school-based experience before moving on to formal teacher training and achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Gain Valuable Classroom Experience
During your first year, you will work within a secondary school in Poole, supporting teaching and learning across a range of subjects and year groups.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons
- Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
- Assisting with classroom activities and student engagement
- Helping to create a positive and productive learning environment
- Observing experienced teachers and learning effective classroom practice
- Developing behaviour management and communication skills
Following a successful placement, participants will have the opportunity to progress onto a salaried teacher training route.
This pathway allows you to:
- Train while earning a salary
- Work towards Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Potentially gain a PGCE alongside your training
- Receive mentoring and support from experienced educators
- Develop your teaching practice within a familiar school environment

Teacher Training Entry Requirements
To progress onto most teacher training programmes, candidates will typically require:
- A bachelor's degree (or be on track to achieve one)
- GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics
- Full-time school-based experience
- A clear pathway into salaried teacher training
- Ongoing mentoring and professional support
- Access to training and development opportunities
- Valuable classroom experience across a range of subjects
