Goods In Warehouse Operative

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail\-oriented Goods In Warehouse Operative to join our busy warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, checking, and managing incoming stock, ensuring smooth operations within the warehouse environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience or mechanical knowledge to develop their skills within a dynamic logistics setting. The position involves heavy lifting and requires adherence to safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.

Duties

• Receive and unload deliveries using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, ensuring accurate handling of goods


• Inspect incoming stock for damage or discrepancies and update inventory records accordingly


• Utilise Warehouse Management System (WMS) to record stock movements and maintain accurate data


• Stock shelves efficiently, ensuring items are stored safely and organised for easy retrieval


• Assist with picking and packing orders for dispatch, maintaining accuracy and timeliness


• Load and unload materials from lorries, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards


• Operate mechanical equipment including forklifts, with valid certification where necessary


• Maintain a clean and organised warehouse environment, following health and safety guidelines at all times


• Support shipping and receiving processes, liaising with transport providers as required

Experience

• Previous experience in warehouse management or logistics is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for all operational procedures


• Familiarity with forklift operation and certification is advantageous but full in house training will be provided for the successful candidate (Flexi AC1000 \& Linde V10 trucks)


• Knowledge of warehouse management systems such as Mintsoft WMS is an advantage


• Experience in materials handling, stock management


• Mechanical aptitude or understanding of warehouse equipment will be considered an asset


• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently, with good organisational skills for stock control


• Practical experience in picking \& packing, shipping \& receiving tasks is advantageous

Hours are \- Monday \- Friday 8am till 4pm (Paid 30mins break daily)

Hourly Rate \- £12\.71 \- Paid Monthly on the last Friday of each month

Overtime as needed paid at time \& half for anything over the standard hours.

Pay: £12\.71 per hour

Expected hours: 40\.0 per week
