The Role
The Women's Goalkeeper Coach \& Set Piece Analyst will lead the holistic development and performance of all Women's First Team goalkeepers while supporting the club’s wider goalkeeping framework across the academy pathway.
This role combines specialist technical coaching with tactical insight, set piece analysis, and structured player development. The successful candidate will design and deliver high\-performance training, implement individual development plans (IDPs), and ensure alignment between academy and senior goalkeeping philosophies.
The position plays a key role in driving standards, creating consistency across the programme, and contributing to match\-winning detail through set piece strategy and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- First Team Goalkeeper Coaching
- Plan, design, and deliver high\-quality, position\-specific training sessions aligned to the First Team game model.
- Prepare goalkeepers tactically and technically for matchday performance.
- Deliver pre\- and post\-match reviews, including individual feedback and unit analysis.
- Support matchday preparation, warm\-ups, and in\-game tactical adjustments.
- Create, implement, and review Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for all First Team goalkeepers.
- Track and monitor performance against defined technical, tactical, physical, and psychological benchmarks.
- Provide consistent, evidence\-based feedback using video, data, and live observation.
- Drive accountability and ownership within goalkeepers for their own development.
- Lead analysis of attacking and defensive set pieces, with a specific focus on goalkeeper roles and responsibilities.
- Provide detailed opposition analysis, identifying trends, strengths, and vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to design and implement set piece strategies.
- Deliver clear, concise reports and visual content to support team preparation.
- Design structured, progressive session plans that reflect the club’s playing philosophy.
- Integrate goalkeepers into team sessions where appropriate to enhance tactical cohesion.
- Ensure training intensity, detail, and standards reflect match demands.
- Oversee and support the development of academi goalkeeping coaches.
- Ensure alignment of coaching methodology, session design, and player development across all age groups.
- Contribute to the identification and progression of high\-potential academy goalkeepers.
- Support transition planning for academy goalkeepers moving into senior football.
- Use video analysis, data, and live observation to inform coaching interventions.
- Produce individual and unit\-based reports to support decision\-making.
- Maintain a consistent feedback loop between training and match performance.
- Work closely with First Team and multidisciplinary staff to align performance objectives.
- Contribute to a high\-performance culture that demands accountability, consistency, and continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships across departments to ensure clarity of expectations and standards.
Essential
- UEFA Goalkeeping A Licence (or working towards).
- Proven experience coaching goalkeepers in an elite or professional environment.
- Strong understanding of modern goalkeeping demands within a team tactical framework.
- Experience in session design, video analysis, and performance feedback.
- Ability to design and manage Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- UEFA A Licence (outfield).
- Experience working across both senior and academy environments.
- Strong understanding of set piece strategy and analysis.
- Experience using performance analysis software and data platforms.
