The Role
We’re hiring a Head of Growth – Retail to lead our expansion into mass retail and specialty pet channels across Europe.
You’ve done this before: scaled a pet brand in retail from scratch to millions, closed deals with key retailers, and built long\-term relationships with category managers. You understand the complexity of physical retail — from listings to logistics — and how to win shelf space in both mainstream and niche pet stores.
This role is about ownership and scale. You’ll take Barkyn’s retail channel from early wins to multi\-market traction.
What You’ll Do
- Own and execute Barkyn’s offline retail growth strategy
- Lead expansion into mass market and specialty pet retail across Europe
- Manage relationships with category managers and key buyers
- Build retail playbooks for listing, activation, and performance
- Define pricing, promotion, and go\-to\-market tactics per geography
- Work cross\-functionally with ops, marketing, product, and finance to align execution
What You Bring
Must\-Have
- 7\+ years of experience in retail and offline sales
- Experience scaling a pet brand in retail, from launch to multi\-million revenue
- Deep knowledge of mass market and specialized pet retail channels
- Existing relationships or direct experience with category managers
- Successfully operated in at least two European geographies
- Strong negotiation, retail activation, and margin management skills
Bonus
- Multi\-country go\-to\-market experience
- Experience launching retail from a D2C base
- Familiarity with supply chain and retail operations tooling
