The Carlton \& Faceby and Bilsdale CE Federation – initially based at Carlton and Faceby CE (VA) Primary School near Stokesley, North Yorkshire Executive Headteacher – Mr. Matthew Scott Carlton \& Faceby CE Primary School is a small and friendly rural school nestled in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside. We are seeking a caring, committed and enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant (SEND) to join our team and provide dedicated support to specific children in our school who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), in addition to general classroom support. We are looking for a candidate who could take up the post in September 2026\.

This role will also involve lunchtime supervision.

This role is offered on a variable\-hours contract, initially starting at 24\.5 hours per week, term time only. The contract has a minimum of 16 hours per week and a maximum of 24\.5 hours per week.

The initial working hours will be:

Monday 8\.30\-3\.30pm

Tuesday and Friday 8\.30am–1pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support tailored to children’s individual needs, as outlined in their EHCP.


• Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement strategies that promote engagement, learning and well\-being.


• Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that supports children’s social, emotional and academic development.


• Provide high\-quality classroom support to individuals and groups of learners.


• Contribute to the wider life of the school as a valued member of our team.

• Can work collaboratively and communicate effectively with staff, parents and external professionals.

As a Voluntary Aided Church of England school, we achieved a very positive inspection report from SIAMS in September 2024, the successful candidate would need to be committed to upholding our Christian ethos.
