Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and driven General Manager to join our leadership team and help take the business to the next level.
This is a hands\-on management role for someone who thrives in a fast\-paced automotive environment and has a proven track record of leading teams, improving processes and driving performance.
The Role
As General Manager, you will be responsible for the day\-to\-day management and forward progression of the business.
You will oversee multiple departments, ensure operational standards are maintained, improve customer experience and help create a structured, accountable and high\-performing culture throughout the business.
You will work closely with the Directors and play a key role in driving efficiency, profitability and long\-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Department
- Manage and lead the sales team
- Monitor sales performance and KPIs
- Coach and develop sales staff
- Improve lead management and conversion rates
- Ensure processes are followed consistently
- Conduct regular team meetings and one\-to\-ones
- Take ownership of customer complaints
- Ensure complaints are handled professionally and efficiently
- Improve customer satisfaction and review performance
- Implement customer service procedures and standards
- Oversee the Workshop Controller and workshop workflow
- Monitor vehicle preparation progress
- Ensure vehicles are prepared and delivered to company standards
- Improve communication between departments
- Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks
- Oversee vehicle parts ordering processes
- Ensure parts are ordered efficiently and on time
- Improve stock and supplier management
- Reduce delays caused by parts shortages
- Implement new processes and procedures
- Improve accountability across all departments
- Develop reporting and KPI structures
- Support recruitment, training and staff development
- Assist Directors with strategic business growth initiatives
- Minimum 10 years' experience within the automotive industry
- Minimum 5 years' management experience within the automotive sector
- Strong understanding of vehicle sales operations
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Experience managing performance and accountability
- Ability to lead by example and command respect
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Customer\-focused approach
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Prestige or luxury vehicle experience
- Dealer management experience
- Experience using DMS and CRM systems
- Experience implementing operational improvements
- Understanding of FCA and consumer legislation
- Monday to Friday: 9:00am – 6:00pm
- Alternate Saturdays (1 on / 1 off)
- £35,000 \- £40,000 Basic Salary
