General Manager – Modern Japanese Restaurant (Leeds City Centre)
We are looking for a motivated and hands\-on General Manager to lead our small independent restaurant in Leeds.
We are a modern Japanese restaurant with 28 covers, focused on quality, consistency, and great guest experience. This is a very hands\-on role in a small team environment.
Overview
We are looking for someone with hospitality experience and strong leadership potential. This does not necessarily need to be a highly experienced GM role — we are open to Assistant Managers or strong senior supervisors ready to step up into full management responsibility.
Full training and support will be provided where needed, as long as the candidate is organised, responsible, and willing to take ownership of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of a 28\-cover restaurant
- Lead and support a small team on shift
- Manage rotas, stock control, and daily ordering
- Ensure food hygiene, HACCP, and health \& safety standards are met
- Support with risk assessments and compliance
- Maintain high standards of service and guest experience
- Assist with sales tracking and basic reporting
Requirements
- Hospitality experience (Assistant Manager / Supervisor level accepted)
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take responsibility
- Basic understanding of food safety and restaurant operations
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work in a small, fast\-paced environment
- Leadership potential and proactive attitude

Pay: £27,000\.00\-£27,500\.00 per year
