Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Gas Engineer/Plumber to join our team to work in Newport, and Cardiff area, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas and plumbing systems across residential, commercial, and industrial properties. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, be capable of working independently or as part of a team, and demonstrate excellent problem\-solving skills. Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair gas appliances, boilers, and plumbing systems in accordance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and perform preventative maintenance.
- Diagnose faults accurately using specialised tools and techniques, then implement effective solutions.
- Read technical drawings and specifications to ensure correct installation and maintenance procedures.
- Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry tools to complete tasks efficiently.
- Heavy lifting of equipment or materials as required while adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and inspections carried out.
- Ensure all work complies with current health and safety legislation and company policies.
- Proven experience in plumbing, gas engineering, or related mechanical trades.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry tools.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting tasks.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with commercial driving is advantageous for transporting equipment or materials between sites.
- Competence in assembly work related to plumbing or gas systems.
