Are you an experienced manager who thrives on leading people, driving performance and making things happen?

We're looking for an exceptional Centre Manager to lead our Bingley Garden Centre and play a key role in creating outstanding experiences for our customers, colleagues and community. This is a full time position working on average 37\.25 hours per week including alternate weekends.

This isn't a desk\-based management role. It's a hands\-on leadership position where you'll be at the heart of the business, leading from the front, supporting your teams, driving commercial performance and ensuring the centre runs safely and efficiently every single day.

You'll have the support of an Assistant Centre Manager and Catering Manager, but ultimately you'll be responsible for the overall day\-to\-day operation of the site, ensuring every department delivers exceptional standards, commercial success and a fantastic customer experience. You'll be accountable for everything from leading and developing teams, health and safety and compliance, through to operational excellence, site standards and business growth.

What you'll be doing

As Centre Manager, you'll be responsible for the successful day\-to\-day running of the centre, ensuring we continue to deliver a GREAT experience for our customers whilst maintaining a safe, efficient and commercially successful operation.

Leading and developing your people

  • Creating a positive, engaging and high\-performing culture.

  • Leading, coaching and developing managers, supervisors and colleagues.

  • Ensuring we have the right people in the right roles who are trained, motivated and supported to succeed.

  • Holding regular performance and development conversations.

  • Inspiring teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences every day.

  • Driving colleague engagement and building a culture where people can do their best work.
Driving commercial performance
  • Delivering sales performance and helping the centre achieve its targets.

  • Ensuring high standards of merchandising, presentation and signage across the site.

  • Planning ahead to maximise seasonal opportunities, promotional activity and customer demand.

  • Analysing performance and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Working closely with the wider business to deliver retail and operational strategies.
Managing the operation
  • Taking overall responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of the site.

  • Ensuring rotas, labour planning and operational processes are effectively managed.

  • Maintaining a secure, safe and well\-presented centre.

  • Ensuring company policies, procedures and legislative requirements are consistently followed.

  • Taking ownership of the overall maintenance and presentation of the site.
Championing health and safety
  • Acting as the primary person responsible for Health \& Safety across the centre.

  • Creating a safe environment for customers, colleagues and contractors.

  • Ensuring teams are compliant with all relevant legislation and company requirements.

  • Promoting a proactive safety culture across every department.

What we're looking for

We're looking for a leader who is commercially aware, people\-focused and genuinely enjoys being part of the day\-to\-day operation.

You'll likely have:

  • Experience leading a large retail, hospitality, leisure or customer\-focused operation.

  • A track record of developing and motivating high\-performing teams.

  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to make sound business decisions.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • A hands\-on approach and willingness to get involved wherever needed.

  • Experience managing operational standards, compliance and health and safety.

  • Strong planning, organisation and problem\-solving skills.

  • The resilience to thrive in a fast\-paced environment where no two days are ever the same.
