Salary: Up to £35 per hour (inclusive of statutory holiday pay)
The Supply Register is recruiting on behalf of a Further Education College in Kidderminster for a Functional Skills English Lecturer to join their team on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced English Lecturer to support learners across a range of study programmes, delivering high-quality Functional Skills English provision and helping students develop the literacy, communication and employability skills required for further study, employment and everyday life.
The role is initially for a 12-week period, with the potential for extension depending on business needs.
Key Responsibilities • Deliver engaging and effective Functional Skills English lessons to learners at varying levels.
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality learning activities that support student achievement.
- Assess, monitor and record learner progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Support learners to develop their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
- Prepare students for Functional Skills examinations and assessments.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality assurance and curriculum development activities.
- Participate in team meetings and departmental activities as required.
- Previous experience teaching Functional Skills English within a Further Education, Adult Education or similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of the Functional Skills English curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Excellent communication, organisational and classroom management skills.
- A passion for supporting learners to achieve their educational goals.
- Experience delivering GCSE English Language resit programmes.
- Previous experience working within a Further Education College environment.
- Experience supporting learners with diverse learning needs and abilities.
