Functional Analyst - Freelance

Daily rate: 600
Context and objective

The role is within the banking domain, with a focus on investment trading. The mission is to translate business requirements into functional and non\-functional specifications, support solution design, and collaborate closely with delivery teams in a Scrum environment.

Main responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements documentation


• Create functional and non\-functional specifications based on business requirements


• Detail solution design in collaboration with the Architect and Development team


• Design service specifications


• Define the data model with the Data Architect


• Write functional requirements, including user stories in Jira and documentation in Confluence


• Collaborate closely with the Product Owner, Business Analyst, Architect and Scrum team members


• Support the Scrum team in software development and testing activities


• Decompose high\-level information from different sources into detailed and structured artifacts understandable by the development team

Requirements

Required profile

Domain knowledge:

• Knowledge of financial investment products, trading and advisory business

• Strong knowledge of functional and non\-functional requirements


• Strong knowledge of UML, including activity diagrams and sequence diagrams


• Strong knowledge of SQL


• Knowledge of file formats such as XML, JSON and CSV


• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint and Copilot


• Experience with Jira in a Scrum context


• Knowledge of AI


• Understanding of application servers, POD, containers, micro\-services, service orchestration, message bus and ETL

• Degree in Business, Economics or Computer Science


• More than 5 years of relevant experience as a Functional Analyst


• Native\-level Dutch or French, with fluent English

• Strong analytical and technical capabilities


• Proven communication skills


• Profound knowledge of methods and tools for functional specifications


• Technical background and strong appetite for technology


• Team player


• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail


• Experience working with different vendors, locally and/or offshore, in a multicultural environment
