*About The Frame*

The Frame is an independent 4\-screen cinema in the heart of Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre, Sheffield, bringing the best of mainstream film, National Theatre Live screenings, and carefully selected indie and arthouse programming to our community. We’re passionate about film, great customer experiences, and being a genuine cultural hub for the area.

As we prepare to open our doors, we’re looking for a talented and motivated Cinema Manager to help launch The Frame and lead it from day one, building a team, setting the standard, and making it a venue Sheffield will love.

*The Role*

As Cinema Manager, you will take ownership of the day\-to\-day operations of The Frame. You’ll lead and inspire our front\-of\-house team across four screens, maintain the highest standards of customer service, and create an environment where both staff and guests thrive.

This is a hands\-on leadership role, you’ll be visible on the floor, setting the tone for the team and the venue from day one. Working closely with ownership, you’ll shape the operational culture of a brand\-new cinema and help make The Frame a destination for film lovers across Sheffield.

*Key Responsibilities*

*Staff \& Team Management*

  • Recruit, onboard, and train front\-of\-house staff, including box office, and concessions teams

  • Create and manage staff rotas to ensure appropriate cover across all sessions and events

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivated team culture

  • Handle HR matters including absence management, disciplinary procedures, and staff welfare
*Front\-of\-House Operations*
  • Oversee all front\-of\-house functions including ticketing, concessions, and customer welcome

  • Ensure the cinema is presented to the highest standard at all times, clean, well\-maintained, and welcoming

  • Manage opening and closing procedures

  • Act as the main point of contact for customer feedback and complaints, resolving issues swiftly and professionally

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, licensing requirements, and data protection obligations

  • Coordinate with projectionists and technical staff to ensure smooth screening operations
*Events \& Programming Support*
  • Support scheduling and operational planning for National Theatre Live screenings and special events

  • Liaise with distributors and event organisers as required

  • Help develop initiatives to grow audience attendance and build community engagement
*What We’re Looking For*

*Essential*

  • Proven experience in a management or supervisory role in a customer\-facing environment (cinema, theatre, hospitality, or leisure)

  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and motivating teams

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • A customer\-first mindset with high standards for service and presentation

  • Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure

  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
*Desirable*
  • Previous cinema or arts venue experience

  • Familiarity with ticketing or venue management systems

  • Experience managing licensed premises

  • Full UK driving licence (preferred as the role may occasionally require travel between sites or suppliers)

  • First aid trained

  • A genuine love of film and enthusiasm for independent cinema

  • Salary of £21,840–£36,400 per annum, depending on experience
