Front of House Manager (Monday to Friday)

At Small Goods we produce exceptional coffee, doughnuts, cakes, sandwiches \& bakery goods in the Temple Quay area of Bristol. We also have a mini Small Goods inside a high end office on Avon St. 500 yards from our main site. We also supply cakes by electric bike to our sister sites Little Victories and Small Street Espresso.

We’re a small team who love great coffee, \& interesting food. We aim to build an environment in which people enjoy working, brewing, baking and creating. Almost everything we serve is made completely in house. We’ve been at the forefront of the specialty coffee scene in Bristol for nearly 15 years.

We’re looking for a Front of House Manager to work with 2 supervisors to run the daily operations of both Small Goods and our office concession.

You’ll also be working with a small management team including the owner and also the Head Baker, with plenty of support. Day to day you’ll take charge of the FOH team on site, taking a lead on customer service and coffee.

Responsibilities include

Opens, Closes and managing shifts

Set the standard for the rest of team, lead and train new members of staff.

Stock control and ordering

Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver the highest quality product and experience

Input into planning the FOH rota with the management team

Alternating working between our main site (mostly) and also our fancy satellite office site (around 500 yards from Small Goods HQ!).

Key Info

· Weekday day time hours, shifts are a mix of 730/2pm\-3pm or 730/430pm.

· Hours are 35\-40 per week usually over 5 days, with scope for occasional 4 days weeks.

· We believe giving the best possible weekend life balance is the key to keeping great people for as long as possible.

· Latest Coffee Machine and Grinders \+ the best coffee from local roasters Clifton Coffee.

· Help shape a growing business

· £14\.83 \- £15\.44 p/h \+ free coffee/lunch/doughnuts! Longer term we would be looking at a profit share in addition to the hourly rate for the right candidate.

Ideal Attributes

· Previous management experience in hospitality, ideally in speciality coffee/bakery.

· Excellent coffee skills

· Good communicator and motivator

· Strong work ethic and high personal standards of service

· Punctual with great time management

· Enthusiastic and positive, on good days and days when everything happens at once!

· Proactive and takes initiative at work
